In the Angeleno forest, high upon a hill
A fire is a climbing, the winds of change won't still
But the water's in the desert and it's getting mighty high
If I don't get out there, then I think that I might die
For a stone falls deep in an empty well
Deep down among the canyons of a long forgotten place
Lies the key to the survival of this misbegotten place
But it's crushed beneath the boulders of our stony foolish ways
So we're doomed to wander wastelands carves by empty waterways
The sound echoes long in an empty well
Water's in the well
Plenty left for sale
By the clowns all a grinning
At the jokers stuck in hell
Parched land is cracking where the waters have all drained
We all will too without getting us some rain
So hunker down, sprinklers on—a storm in coming soon
You might find a tumbleweed, or maybe a monsoon
But time's run dry in an empty well
